We would like to invite you to our next Educator Gathering! We will have complimentary drinks and snacks as you engage in conversation with other local educators. A Mitsu-Ken mini bento is also available for purchase. This is a great opportunity to see Hawai'i's youth who will be leading an Unrulr scavenger hunt where you will learn how this digital tool may enhance collaboration and creativity. We encourage you to attend with a group of 3-5 educator friends so you may play the scavenger hunt together. We can also assign individual educators to a team. Gift card prizes will be available for scavenger hunt winners!
Date: Saturday, November 2, 2024
Time: 10AM - 12PM
Location: Ala Moana Beach Park (meet) and Ala Moana Shopping Center (scavenger hunt)
The Music Olympics is a solo and ensemble collaborative competition open to brass, piano, string, and woodwind musicians in grades k-12. Students are required to enter as a team of at least 2 members and up to 12 members. In addition to the team aspect, another way that our event is unique is by offering a coaching element while students are still in the process of learning their music.
The inaugural Music Olympics was funded by the Farmers Insurance $100,000 Dream Big Teacher Challenge. In 2023, our Youth Advisory Board will be organizing our 4th annual Music Olympics. For more information about us, please visit our website below.
Grateful to all of the Hawai'i educators who came out to our first ever “Board Game Night” on January 20, 2024 at Kaneohe Elementary School. 🥳 We played fun games such as Green Team Wins, Throw Avocado, Telestrations, and NMBR 9! We had so much fun together that we are looking forward to hosting more board game nights in the future. Stay tuned!
HYPED is honored to be a sponsor for the 2023 Hawai'i Family Code Dance Party which celebrates the Hour of Code and Computer Science Education Week with glorious code.org dancing in Hawaii. The virtual gathering was filled with many coded dances dreamed up by Hawaii students! So proud of HYPED Board Member, Celeste Endo, for coordinating such a fantastic event for Hawai'i's youth and their families.
We had a great crowd of educators and yout at our FIRST Educator Gathering on November 4, 2023 a the HawaiiUSA FCU Kahala Branch! We had complimentary coffee and tea from Cafe Villamor as educators engaged in conversation with other local educators. This was also a great opportunity to hear from Hawai'i's youth who led an Unrulr presentation and scavenger hunt about how this digital tool enhances reflection, collaboration, and creativity. Educators formed groups of 3-5 with their educator friends and played the scavenger hunt together. It was a fun day of learning and collaboration!
